The 2008 BP MS 150

A bicycle-riding fundraiser for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society

Sponsored by British Petroleum & 25 Other businesses and organizations!

The 21st Annual MS Bike Ride was held July 26-27. A total of nineteen ham operators participated on Saturday and five on Sunday. 220 bike riders rode from Amarillo to Canadian on Saturday and 68 rode a 50 mile route on Sunday. David, W5ABR, Communications Coordinator for the event, said, "Of the three years I have been the coordinator, this year was by far the smoothest. Amateur Radio operators were asked to develop the proper mindset for emergency events, to think about what to say before keying the mike, say it and leave the channel clear in case of emergency traffic. This year the operators listed below meshed together and worked as a team to make this event the best yet."

The following photos illustrate some of the many parts of the 2008 event. We missed getting a photo at Rest Stop #1, at which N5HPJ, Henry, provided the communications.
