Wayside, Texas

Wayside is a very small community located east of Happy, Texas. The tower for the ARMSTG (Armstrong County) packet node and the WAYSID APRS digi-- is located at 34° 49' 24" N and 101° 33' 49" W.

The APRS station consists of a KPC-3 and a Motorola MaxTrac. The packet units are a MFJ-1270 TNC and a Motorola MaraTrac. ARMSTG communicates with GRAY (in Pampa), POTTER in Amarillo, and with PLVW in Plainview. PLVW then provides access to nodes in the Lubbock area.

ARMSTG covers nearly all areas of Palo Duro Canyon, and allows mobile packet access from a long stretch of Interstate 27 from Tulia to southern parts of Amarillo.
