Gene's Ham Radio Pages

I have never been satisfied to work only one mode, and have always been interested in trying new things in amateur radio. I worked RTTY for many years, starting out with an old Model 15. But I also enjoyed fast-scan television for several years-- until the only other person in my city with a dedicated interest in FSTV-- moved. Being retired from teaching in Amarillo Independent School District, and being allowed only 1/3 of the Social Security I earned from paying into it for eighteen years, I no longer have much money to buy new equipment. That is one reason I really treasure the few old "boatanchors" that I have been able to trade for or buy. I missed the great days of radios that "glow in the dark", earning my General license back in 1963, when AM was on the way out and sideband was taking over.

Here is my current AM station:

Ham radio is just one of my hobbies, so not all of the links below are directly related. But if you have time on your hands, you are most welcome to visit all of the pages.

Thanks for visiting.
